I was born and raised between Bangor and South Portland, Maine, where the general life plan was pretty straightforward:

I realized pretty early that I wanted to make money.

So I tried things. A lot of things.

I sold Kirby vacuum cleaners. I sold coupons door to door. I did network marketing.

And I found real estate, which is still very near and dear to my heart.

For years, I worked in hospitality while also working in real estate. That combination eventually led me into my first marketing role.

And that changed the way I saw businesses. Marketing introduced me to the systems behind the sale.

I started seeing how all the pieces were supposed to connect.

Which also meant I started seeing everything I had been doing the hard way.

To be fair, some of the technology simply did not exist yet.

And some of it? Well. Let's just say organization was not exactly my spiritual gift at the time.

What I eventually understood was that the problem was bigger than organization.

Most businesses, especially entrepreneurial businesses like real estate, are built around incredibly capable people compensating for incredibly weak infrastructure.

And because you can carry all of it, eventually the business quietly starts assuming that you always will.

Today, we have technology capable of remembering, routing, following up, documenting, communicating, analyzing, organizing, and executing enormous portions of the work we once had no choice but to carry ourselves.

So the question changed.

That question became the foundation of Real Estate, Unchained.
